About the Service Truck Coordinator Position:

As a Service Truck Coordinator, you will be responsible for directing and coordinating activities of the Service Truck Mechanics engaged in the repair and maintenance of trailers. Your primary duties will include dispatching service trucks to customers, scheduling work for the Service Truck Mechanics, and supervising service truck maintenance. This position also manages the shop’s parts inventory, maintains inventory stock, and places regular stock orders. Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are key to ensuring our high standards of service and customer satisfaction are met. The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanic repairs and parts inventory, a strong understanding of trailer systems, and experience supervising mechanics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispatch service trucks according to customer requests
  • Coordinate and supervise work for Service Truck Mechanics
  • Communicate with customers regarding trailer repairs
  • Maintain high standards of customer service and maintenance of trailers
  • Inspect and diagnose trailer issues
  • Oversee and/or perform routine maintenance on service trucks
  • Perform regular parts inventory counts
  • Place regular stock orders
  • Communicate with Service Manager to ensure accurate inventory levels
  • Assist mechanics with parts selections
  • Test and ensure safety standards
  • Keep updated on industry standards
  • Ensure a safe work environment

Qualifications & Skills:

  • One to two years of experience in service truck dispatching and/or inventory management
  • One to two years of supervision and leadership experience
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Mechanical expertise & technical skills
  • Welding and fabrication skills
  • Safety awareness
  • Associate’s degree preferred
  • Experience in the trailer/transportation industry preferred
